LCU defeated No.25 Rogers State 74-68, as LCU received a solid 25-point outing from Kenny Hewitt to lead the Chaps The game also marked the final home game for Chap head coach John Copeland, who is resigning after 31 seasons at the helm of the Chaps basketball program. LCU closes the regular season with a record of 18-10 overall and in sixth place in the Sooner Athletic Conference with a 13-9 conference mark. The Chaps, who are 4-2 against top-25 teams, will face Rogers State University again Thursday in the SAC Tournament.

Brittany Hampton came up a rebound short of her first career triple-double, as she had nine rebounds to go along with 14 points and 11 assists, but No. 22 LCU fell 80-75 loss to Rogers State University Saturday inside Rip Griffin Center. LCU finishes the regular season with a 20-8 record and a 17-5 conference mark to finish in third place.

Tyler Curtis pitched five scoreless innings and held Southern Nazarene University to four hits, while Ryan Meade hit a pair of home runs to lead No.5 LCU to an 11-0 win to sweep their Sooner Athletic Conference opening series. LCU is now 12-0 to start the season. The Chaps are 3-0 in conference play, while Southern Nazarene IS 2-7 overall and 0-4 in SAC play. LCU plays a doubleheader Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Hobbs, N.M. against University of the Southwest.

The No.5 LCU Lady Chaparral softball team split another Sooner Athletic Conference doubleheader, falling in Sunday’s opener at Oklahoma Christian University 9-3 before rebounding for a 5-3 win in extra innings at OC Softball Field. LCU goes to 12-3 overall and 2-2 in SAC play with the split, while OC moves to 6-4 overall and 3-3 in conference play. The Lady Chaps are off until playing a doubleheader Saturday at Tarleton State University.
