Lady Raiders Woes Continue in Blowout Loss at West Virginia

One of the toughest seasons in Texas Tech Lady Raider Basketball (6-21, 0-16) history continued Wednesday night with a 69-37 loss at #10 West Virginia (25-3, 14-2).

The Lady Raiders were held to a season low for points in a half by only scoring 14 points in the first 20 minutes.

The game's spotlight was on West Virginia's Bria Holmes as she scored a team-high 28 points. Holmes went 9-17 from the field, 2-8 for three-pointers and 8-9 from the free throw line. She also had three steals and two rebounds.

The Lady Raiders leading scorer was Ivonne CookTaylor. She had 12 points with five rebounds in 34 minutes of playing time.  According to Texas Tech, CookTaylor scored in double figures for the second consecutive game and the third overall game this season. She is averaging 13 points and is 10 of 22 from the field (45.5 percent) in her last two contests.

Texas Tech was held to 26% shooting from the field and only went 2-6 from the free throw line.

The Lady Raiders next game is Saturday, hosting Texas at the United Spirit Arena.  Tip-off is at 2p and Saturday's game is also Senior Day for the Lady Raiders.
