TCU used a 13-2 run before halftime to take a five-point lead at the break and then pulled away in the second half to secure a 71-60 win over the Texas Tech Lady Raiders at the University Recreation Center in Fort Worth on Sunday.

Amber Battle led Texas Tech ( 13-10, 3-8) with 20 points, eight rebounds and three steals.

TCU (14-8, 6-5) struggled initially out of the break but eventually got into rhythm during a 10-2 run to expand its lead to as much as 16, while Tech hit just one field goal in the first eight minutes.

The Lady Raiders cut it to as little as eight points with less than two minutes to play as Minta Spears scored in double figures for only the second time in conference play with 13.

Tech returns home on Wednesday to take on Iowa State (15-7, 6-5) at 7 p.m.
