Summer is here, and it's already time to start gearing up for another Texas Tech Football season. Wednesday afternoon, kickoff times for five games on the 2016 schedule were announced.

After not having any home games with kickoff times after 4 p.m. in the 2015 season, Texas Tech is guaranteed at least two nighttime home games next season.

The season opener on September 3 against Stephen F. Austin will start at 7 p.m. and the Thursday night prime-time game against Kansas on September 29 will kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

According to Texas Tech Athletics, the Big 12 Conference games on Texas Tech's schedule without kickoff times will have their start times announced throughout the season on either a 12 or six-day basis. Every home Big 12 football game will be available for telecast in accordance with the conference's joint agreement with FOX Sports and ESPN.
