Josh Jung is just weeks removed from a trip to Omaha with the Texas Tech Red Raiders but he's already moving on to the next phase of his career. Jung is expected to report to rookie ball now after signing his contract after being drafted 8th overall by the Texas Rangers last month.

The top ten pick signed for $ 4.4 million which is under slot value by about $ 700 thousand, but that was expected so the Rangers could move some money around in the rest of their draft and international haul.

The Rangers have also signed Baylor product and fellow 3rd baseman Davis Wendzel to a $1.6 million dollar deal.
