Jay Leno, the legendary former host of The Tonight Show, will be coming to Lubbock to speak at the Lubbock Women's Club Historical Foundation and the Welborn-Payne Endowment Community Speaker Series.
Leno will share stories about his life, career in comedy, what it was like hosting The Tonight Show and, of course, his love of cars. He'll be speaking at The Buddy Holly Hall on Tuesday, October 18th at 8 p.m.
Tickets for the event will go on sale Monday, August 1st to those who have personal seat licenses at Buddy Holly Hall. On Thursday, August 4th, tickets will go on sale to everyone. There will be four different tier levels of pricing: tier 1 tickets will cost $150, tier 2 tickets will cost $125, tier 3 tickets will be $100, and tier 4 will cost $89.50.
There will also be a separate dinner that will cost $100. A table of 8 for $800 is another option for bigger groups interested in seeing Leno speak. Tickets to the dinner will need to be purchased in advance and are not part of the show ticket.
This event has brought in many notable speakers in the past, according to the press release from The Lubbock Women's Club:
Speakers who have been part of Welborn-Payne Endowment Community Speaker Series include Voices of Service (2022), Barbara Pierce Bush (2021), Texas Country Reporter Bob Phillips (2017), Chef Stephan Pyles (2016), Hoda Kotb (2015), former Dallas Cowboys player Daryl Johnston (2015), Zach Thomas, former Texas Tech All-American and Miami Dolphins football player (2014), Jenna Bush Hager (2014), Joan Lunden (2013), Captain Chesley Sullenberger (2013), Heloise (2012), Former First Lady Barbara Bush (2011), William Shawcross, Official Biographer of the Queen Mother (2010), Former United States Attorney General Alberto Gonzales (2009), David Gaschen, star of Broadway’s Phantom of the Opera (2009) and Carmen bin Laden, former sister-in-law of Osama bin Laden (2007).
It sounds like it will be a great event. You can purchase tickets on The Buddy Holly Hall's official website.
