New Mexico should be rebranded as New Marijuana - co ...

The land of "enhanced" enchantment isn't number 1 but they're pretty darn close. The fact that it's legal there, I would hazard a guess, plays into this.

As does the fact that their neighbors in Texas still can't have recreational marijuana. Which is totally helping New Mexico set crazy records for marijuana sales.

Insidermonkey.com decided to see which states had the highest, no pun intended ... well, actually, that was totally intended) ... number of weed warriors and New Mexico did pretty good.

Their numbers are partially thanks to Texas, especially "marijuana tourists" from El Paso, Texas. Ironically, the very place weed was first outlawed in Texas. We have New Mexico on 3 sides here so, getting ganja these days is pretty easy.

As for the top 5 states smoking the most Mary Jane, New Mexico took 4th place, barely edging out Washington with a 21.33% "prevalence of marijuana use" as opposed to Washington's 21.07%.

The first licensed sales of recreational cannabis in New Mexico began on April 1, 2022, and it was announced in March this year that the state’s cannabis industry has already crossed the billion-dollar mark.
