Parents in Lubbock ISD and Frenship ISD were notified on Monday morning that a "threatening phone call" was made to Coronado High School and Frenship High School which included a bomb threat. This put Coronado and all surrounding schools in safety protocol for the remainder of the day.

Well, this happened yet again on Tuesday morning as ANOTHER threatening call was made to Coronado, putting the schools back in security protocol.

Students were not allowed inside or outside of classrooms during the lockdown which was lifted later in the day. Despite the protocol being lifted, safety precautions were still implemented and strictly followed.

Monday's bomb threat was soon found to be "unsubstantial", but was still met with extreme caution and evacuations of students and staff. Officials stated that there was no immediate danger for Lubbock ISD and Frenship ISD school buildings or their students.

Tuesday's threats are believed to be related to the calls made the day prior, and officials continue to say that, after thorough investigation, the threat is not believed to be credible.

Lubbock-Cooper ISD is also tightening their security as Lubbock-Cooper High School, too, received similar threatening calls. Luckily, no proof has been found that validates these threats, and campus operations continued as normal following increased security presence.

These calls are seemingly popping up nationwide, with similar threats on Monday as well in New Jersey. It's unclear as to why these are becoming more prevalent across school campuses, especially after the recent shooting in Georgia that left two teachers and two students dead.
