Viral Video Shows Tech Cheerleader Struggling to Run Giant Flag
Texas Tech football games make for an unforgettable experience. Not only are the fans rowdy, bringing up the whole energy of the stadium, but there are some traditions that really make things special.
One of the traditions everyone looks forward to is the run of the Masked Rider and Centennial Champion across the field at the start of the game plus after each touchdown. Accompanying the iconic duo are Texas Tech cheerleaders running giant flags from end zone to end zone.
While in the stands, these flags still look big, but you don’t realize how huge they really are until you are up close and personal with one.
Current TTU cheerleader, 3x world champion, and former Navarro cheerleader featured on Season 2 of the Netflix show ‘Cheer’, Maddy Brum showed just how hard these flags are to run.
She posted to her TikTok account with over 400K followers, showing her struggle to pick up the massive flag to start running it. With how tiny she is and how huge the 16-foot flag is, I was majorly impressed she got it up and going. Especially while fighting against the Lubbock wind, I don’t think I could manage to get it off the ground.
Her video now has over 3.2 million views, nearly half a million likes, and thousands of shares. The video also has every Red Raider hyped for this year’s football season where we can’t wait to see those flags make their way across the field after every touchdown.
