As someone that spent years on and around the Lubbock campus, I saw plenty of changes happen and continue to see them from a distance now. With the Jones Stadium’s massive end zone update happening over the past year, there is another campus update that might’ve gone by unnoticed by many.

If you are a student living on campus or simply spending much of your week there, then you’ve likely noticed this change.

The Student Union Building, a hub for TTU students looking for a place to study or a bite to eat, recently got an upgrade that many students will be excited about.

A brand new, very nice, Starbucks location will be opening soon, and it is a major difference from what the SUB used to have. During my time on campus, I was used to the small Starbucks location in the bookstore, but this is a major upgrade.

There is plenty of seating for students to relax or study. The large windows create an open and welcoming environment, and it overall looks like a great space.

Sure, I would’ve loved to see a local coffee shop take this spot, but I know many students will be excited to have this new Starbucks available soon.
