The most common resolutions are to exercise more, eat better, and overall live a healthier lifestyle. This means that gyms, nutritionists, and health-tracking apps see a huge increase in traffic at the start of the year. However, making these types of improvements to your life is challenging and takes a lot of willpower to see through. That is why many people end up giving up on their resolutions, pledging that next year will be the one.

In fact, this mentality is so popular that 43% of people expect to give up their goals by the end of January. In reality, 20% of people quit by the end of the first week, and over 60% quit by the time February rolls around.

Knowing that most people quit by the second Friday of the month, some health-tracking apps call it “Quitters Day” knowing their traffic will start decreasing.

Only 9% of people successfully keep their New Year’s resolution, with a lack of motivation being the biggest reason these goals aren’t met.

Knowing all that, do you think you will be part of the 9% to keep your resolutions? Or do you already feel the motivation leaving your system?

I personally plan to set small goals for myself one month, or even one week at a time. for example, reading a certain number of books that month, or cooking at least one new recipe each week, so I can feel less pressure overall. this also allows you to celebrate your success at the end of each short time frame, rather than feeling disappointed that you didn't meet an annual goal.

No matter how you are feeling about this year so far, I hope that you find the motivation within yourself to accomplish any goals you set. All you need is the time, willpower, and effort to make your hopes and dreams a reality.
