Ha! Sleepy little Lubbock is about to be put on blast.

Oh, Lubbock, home of churches on every corner, wall crosses in restaurants, and blaring Christian rock blasting out of larger speakers in warehouse stores. It's everything a good and pious person needs in God's corner of Texas. However, when Sunday school is over everyone is hitting up the porn sites.

The Facts

Lubbock loves porn. I guess that may seem like a strong opinion to you, but I'll prove it. Lubbock is #1 in Google searches asking the question, "How do I watch porn in Texas?".  Don't worry though Lubbock, apparently the entire State of Texas is all horned up with a 3500% increase in that particular search.

Why?

All of this comes down to the boneheaded I.D. law in Texas.  The new law requires some age verifications that the porn sites are not interested in complying with. They fear massive fines and more so just shut off access in the Lone Star State. This is another one of those "feel-good laws" that does more harm than good.

Back To Lubbock

This reminds me so much of Lubbock thinking it could solve the alcohol problem by putting it outside of City limits and current efforts to "Protect Lubbock" from a new cannabis initiative. It just feels like instead of making things better, things are going to get worse. Take a cold shower Lubbock.
