Lubbock did not come in number one overall, but did have it's numbers propped up in one category.

Lubbock On Top

You may not think "Lubbock" when you think of Halloween. Heck, I run a Halloween attraction here and I don't think of "Lubbock" when I think of Halloween. I do think the town is getting better and I'm seeing more and more decorations put out for Halloween each year.

The Survey

Wallethub just released a survey of "The Best Cities For Halloween". Lubbock was far from the top, but far from the bottom due to one of the three main categories. The cities were judged on "Trick Or Treater Friendliness", "Halloween Fun", and "Halloween Weather". Each of those categories were then broken down into various subcategories. As with any Wallethub survery, the metrics are pretty undeniable.

The Win

Lubbock picked up the #1 spot out of 100 cities in the category of "Halloween Weather". I'd have to agree with this one, Lubbock has some cool, but not too cool nights right around Halloween that make pretty much any activity a little better. In fact, right now the high on Halloween is slated to be 73 degrees, meaning an evening somewhere in the mid to low 60's.

The Losses

Lubbock did not fare so well in the other two categories. I can't speak to much on the topic of "Trick Or Treater Friendliness", but I can speak on the category of "Halloween Fun". Again, I co-own an enormously successful Halloween theme park here, but it is an oasis in a sea of nothing to do.
