Hunter Pence Returns to All-Star Game as Starter
Hunter Pence has been on a downhill slide in his career for the last several seasons dealing with injuries and sub-par play. This off-season he took a chance with a minor league deal for his hometown Texas Rangers and now he's going to play in his first All-Star game since 2014.
Not only will he be playing in it, he'll be a starter.
Pence has been a huge part of the Texas Rangers success this season so far as they are just 4.5 games back of the division leading Astros 81 games into the 162 game season. The Rangers slugger is hitting .294 with 15 home runs and 48 RBI playing in the outfield and slotting in at DH.
Pence is set to return from a quick stint on the IL and should be available to collect on the honor to start in the All-Star game and get at least one at bat in for the American League squad.
