Lubbock-Cooper ISD continues to grow. The new high school is under construction with the goal of having it open and ready to welcome students in fall 2023.

Of course it was fairly recently that the Lubbock-Cooper ISD Board of Trustees announced the new name of the high school. As KFYO News previously reported, the new name of the school will be Liberty High School, and the mascot with be the Patriots.

The all new Lubbock-Cooper Liberty High school is under construction at the intersection of Woodrow Road and Quaker Avenue. Not only will the site be the home of the high school, but it will also be the home of a new football stadium.

And now you can watch the new Liberty High School being built, with weather and time permitting of course. The YouTube channel belonging to Sandia Construction has been posting drone footage pretty much weekly since mid-January.

Personally, I think it's pretty cool to see buildings going up over time and people can go back and see the progress being made.

According to previous reporting by KFYO News, the high school is being built with voter-approved bond money:

LCISD is currently home to nine campuses: five elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, and one alternative high school. In May 2021, district voters approved a $420 million bond to fund the construction of three campuses and other district projects. Lubbock-Cooper Liberty High School is first of the three new campuses to be constructed.

Be sure to watch the video above and look for more great drone views of Liberty High School being built.
