Habitat for Humanity is always giving back to the community but they are currently asking anyone with free time this Monday to come assist in their efforts. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 16, they will be taking volunteers to help aid in their projects from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3317 East Dartmouth Street. Habitat for Humanity will be doing construction on houses as well as building fences and constructing porch railings.

Anyone interested in giving their time to help out Habitat for Humanity will also receive breakfast, lunch, snacks, and water that will be provided by First Baptist Church, Atmos Energy, and other vendors. KAMC news reported that any large groups planning to volunteer on Monday are urged to email creeves@lubbockhabitat.org so they can accommodate for meals.

The Texas Tech Football team will also be donating their time to Habitat for Humanity for the third year in a row. Anyone interested in volunteering must be at least 18-years-old or older and wear appropriate clothes that can get dirty along with close-toed shoes. This is a great opportunity for anyone who has the day off to give back to the community and helping those that really need it on a day when we can make a change.
