This year, the annual KidsFish Lubbock event will be held at Mackenzie Park instead of Maxey Park.

You can take the kiddos out to fish this Saturday, April 23rd, 2022, from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. There are no fishing licenses required for the event, and poles, bait and lunch with be provided at no cost.

Mackenzie Lake was stocked with channel catfish, weighing between 2 and 5 pounds, so you're sure to snag yourself a good one. The best part? You don't even have to mess with those old fishing poles in your garage that are all tangled up together. The poles will be there for you, set up and ready to go.

You can get tickets here, and it's completely free. The registration is just so that they will know how many people to expect this Saturday so that they can prepare all of the freebies accordingly.

Grab the kids and take them out for a wonderful day of fishing in Lubbock. If you happen to go with your family and catch yourself a whopper, we would love to see it. Comment on our Facebook page or send us an app message with a photo of your child and their catch. If we get enough submissions, we'll throw together a little gallery of all of the fun.

Mackenzie Park is located at 301 Interstate 27. We hope you have a fantastic time fishing with your family this weekend, and we wish you luck and the biggest catch of them all.
