FM 179 Closed for Railroad Crossing Improvements

Starting Tuesday, May 7th, crews will begin making improvements to the FM 179 / Inler Avenue railroad crossing just north of 34th Street in Lubbock.

According to a Texas Department of Transportation news release, FM 179 will be closed to all north and southbound traffic.

Local traffic between SH 114/19th Street and Donald Preston Drive/82nd Street will continue to have access. However, no through traffic will be allowed and will be detoured around the railroad crossing via Research Boulevard and Upland Avenue.

Work is expected to last around one week.
