Family Promise of Lubbock Celebrates New Housing for Homeless Pregnant Women
Family Promise of Lubbock will now have a home for expectant homeless mothers.
This new addition is designed to house homeless mothers by providing safe housing, food, and baby supplies.
Since homeless pregnant women have very few options when living on the streets, Holy Spirit Catholic Church recognized the need to assist them by providing funding to renovate space that was originally used as a storage. The remodeled space now has two bedrooms, a full bathroom utility room and living room. Each bedroom is fully furnished and contains a baby bed.
Families will be able to stay after the birth. They will remain in the program until the mother can find employment, financial stability, and a new home.
The "Blessing of the House" event will be at 2302 13th Street, on Thursday, July 19th at 1:30 p.m. Father Rudi Crasta will deliver the blessing.
