On Monday, August 2nd, the City of Lubbock announced that Erik Rejino will be serving as the new Assistant City Manager.

Rejino, who as of right now serves as the City Manager of Levelland, has a combined 13 years of municipal government experience with Levelland. It was specified in a news release from the City of Lubbock that Rejino holds a Masters in Business Administration from West Texas A&M and is an alumnus of Texas Tech University, where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Economics.

Lubbock City Manager Jarrett Atkinson said:

We are honored to bring Mr. Rejino to Lubbock. He went through a rigorous recruitment process that drew qualified candidates from across several states. Erik has experience as a City Manager in a neighboring West Texas city and demonstrates a very strong desire to join our management team.

In regards to being selected as the new Assistant City Manager, Rejino said:

I am honored to be joining an organization and community that I greatly admire. I am looking forward to serving the citizens of Lubbock and working alongside my new team members while contributing towards Lubbock’s progress in achieving its long term vision.

Rejino is set to officially begin working for the City of Lubbock on Monday, October 11th, 2021.
