A special teams ace has chosen to finish his career at Texas Tech. Jacob Morgenstern heads to Lubbock from Duke where he spent the last four seasons playing for Texas Tech's new co-defensive coordinator Derek Jones.

Morgenstern played the previous three seasons for Duke and had seven tackles in the 2019 season. He won the Bill Keziah Award for Duke in 2019, given to the top Blue Devil special teams player. Though, Morgenstern could flourish in the specialized Raider position given his 6'4" frame, it's likely he's headed to Texas Tech as a familiar face to Coach Jones and as a true culture guy.

Morgenstern is a graduate transfer, meaning he will be able to play immediately for the Red Raiders.
