Dr. Tedd Mitchell will leave his position as president of the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center and become the full-time chancellor of the Texas Tech System.

Dr. Mitchell has been the president of the Health Sciences Center since 2010. He was selected as Texas Tech’s chancellor in October of 2018 and has been serving in both roles.

Lori Rice-Spearman will take over as interim president when Dr. Mitchell leaves the position on November 1st. Texas Tech’s Board of Regents will then begin the process of finding a new president of the Health Sciences Center.
