Donating Your Still Uneaten Halloween Candy To Our Troops Solves 2 Problems [VIDEO]
So here we are, after Halloween with way more candy than we should eat. But its sad to just throw it away, and a waste of good candy too. So what else can you do? Donate it to the troops, that's what.
The holidays are here and we will all be adding to our waistlines enough over the next 2 months. Trying to finish off every piece of Halloween candy now will only start you off already behind. That's where Operation Gratitude comes in. Their mission:
We include a handful of candy in every Care Package we send. A major source of these sweet treats is our popular Halloween Candy Give-Back Program hosted by generous dentists, businesses, groups, and families. This year, volunteers are also collecting Wish List items to include in our Care Packages: floss, travel size toothpaste, pens and mechanical pencils.
When I checked the map on their website it didn't show a single location in Lubbock, or Amarillo, or anywhere else in west Texas. So that leaves us with 2 options. The first is to mail in your donation, which you can do with a printable label from their website. The second is to contact any local dentist offices who may want to start the program and get involved.
