Crabtree and Harrell Headline Texas Tech’s 2020 Hall of Fame Class
Texas Tech will induct the likes of Michael Crabtree, Graham Harrell and Ronald Ross as part of its seven-member Hall of Fame class that was announced by the Double T Varsity Club on Thursday.
Joining those high-profile names are former discus national champion D'Andra Carter, golfer Brooke Lowrance, volleyball standout Chris Martin and All-American infielder Jason Totman.
"This is arguably one of the best classes we've inducted into the Texas Tech Hall of Fame," said Rodney Allison, executive director of the Double T Varsity Club. "You can look at each of these inductees and fairly say they were among the top players we've had in each of their respective sports. We look forward to formally inducting this class into the Hall of Fame and will hopefully be able to share those details later this fall."
The accomplishments of these athletes speak for themselves.
Crabtree and Harrell are arguably the top quarterback-receiver duo in school history, leading the 2008 football team to one of the greatest football seasons any Red Raider squad ever had. They were both Heisman finalists, and Crabtree was the first two-time Biletnikoff winner ever.
Ross was a basketball standout in the middle of Bob Knight's run with Texas Tech. He averaged 17.5 points per game, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.6 steals per game as a senior and was named an all-American.
National Champion D'Andra Carter maintains five of the farthest throws in Texas Tech history. Lowrance left the Texas Tech golf program as the school's all-time leader for the lowest stroke average. Martin was a dominating presence at the volleyball net, ranking fifth all-time at Texas Tech for career solo blocks and total blocks and sixth for block assists. Totman, an all-American infielder, remains second on the school's career batting list at .407 and holds two of the top three marks for hitting by a Tech second baseman in school history.
There is not currently a date set for the 2020 Hall of Fame induction.
