Construction Worker Killed in Crash Near Wolfforth

At around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning (August 13th), the Wolfforth Police Department responded to reports of a pedestrian accident in the 500 block of the westbound frontage road of US Highway 62/82.

Upon arrival, first responders located the pedestrian with serious injuries. He was transported to University Medical Center by EMS.

The pedestrian, later identified as 21-year-old Devon Dominguez of Hondo, Texas, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Investigators determined that Dominguez was a construction worker with Cox Paving of Texas and was struck by a dump truck. The truck was being operate by another employee. Allegedly, Dominguez walked behind the truck as it was backing up on the frontage road, and that's when he was struck.

KAMC News reports that a makeshift memorial was created on the side of the road for Dominguez.
