Former Texas Tech and Colorado Rockies Pitcher Chad Bettis will likely make his Major League debut Thursday starting against the Atlanta Braves.

The report from the Rockies website on Wednesday says that Bettis will likely start against the National League East leaders after being called up from Double-A earlier this week.

Bettis, from Monterey High School in Lubbock, was the 76th overall pick in the 2010 draft after spending three seasons with the Red Raiders.

In the minor league system for the Rockies, Bettis had a 3-4 record this season at Double-A Tulsa with 3.71 ERA through 12 starts.

The Rockies take on the Braves Thursday at 6:10pm from Turner Field to finish the four-game series.
