Ready to set sail out of Galveston? As coronavirus numbers continue to drop and the number of people getting vaccinated rises, those ready to get on a massive ship for a vacation will be in luck soon.

The website travelpulse, is reporting that Carnival Cruise Line will begin restarting operations on July 3 out of Galveston for the Carnival Vista and for the Carnival Breeze, also out of Galveston on July15.

I have been on both the Breeze and Vista and can say they are excellent ships with great features. The Vista is the newest out of the two and has some very interesting room options.

In the article, Carnival said that only vaccinated passengers will be allowed on the cruise ships.

“We appreciate the progress and support for our U.S. restart from the CDC and other key federal agencies; however, the current CDC requirements for cruising with a guest base that is unvaccinated will make it very difficult to deliver the experience our guests expect, especially given the large number of families with younger children who sail with us,” said Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy.

“As a result, our alternative is to operate our ships from the U.S. during the month of July with vaccinated guests.”

We will have to wait to see how this works and what the plan is for cruise ship passengers. The last thing any of these cruise liners want to do is set sail and an outbreak happen.

To prepare yourself for a potential incident, always keep your vet's phone number handy, along with an after-hours clinic you can call in an emergency. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center also has a hotline you can call at (888) 426-4435 for advice.

Even with all of these resources, however, the best cure for food poisoning is preventing it in the first place. To give you an idea of what human foods can be dangerous, Stacker has put together a slideshow of 30 common foods to avoid. Take a look to see if there are any that surprise you.
