Texas Tech baseball’s Jace Jung has already been crowned as the best player in the Big 12. Now he's being talked about as the best hitter in Texas and the best player in college baseball.

Jung was named as one of four finalists for the Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger Award. A fairly new award, only created in 2017, but one that has historically been owned by Red Raiders. Hunter Hargrove won the inaugural trophy back in 2017 and Josh Jung claimed the honor in 2019.

The Award started as a regional award but has since become a national honor so Jace Jung taking home the Bragan Award would be even more prestigious than the previous two Red Raiders who own the title.

Jung's stats speak for themselves, he leads the Big 12 with 21 home runs, 67 RBI, and a .706 slugging percentage. His RBI total is the highest of any Power-5 player. Additionally, he accomplished the rare feat of reaching base safely in every game during the regular season.

Jung is joined as a finalist by Arizona’s Jacob Berry, Oklahoma’s Tyler Hardman and East Carolina’s Connor Norby.

That's not the only list Jung made today, he's also been named a semifinalist for the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award. One of 25 on that short list.

The Golden Spikes Award is College Baseball's Heisman trophy, presented annually to the top amateur baseball player in the United States. Texas Tech has had a semifinalist every season since 2017, with Steven Gingery and Josh Jung representing the Red Raiders in consecutive seasons.
