A Blocked Punt Shifts Momentum Back to Texas Tech [Watch]
After a field goal from Arizona State, Texas Tech reeled off 21 straight points. Nic Shimonek threw touchdowns to Keke Coutee, Cam Batson and Dylan Cantrell respectively.
After that, the Texas Tech defense had a penalty-filled drive that allowed the Sun Devils to stop the bleeding making the score 21-10.
On the next offensive drive for the Red Raiders, the Texas Tech offense would slide all the way down to the goal line before Desmond Nisby fumbled into the end zone. The fumble was recovered by ASU, and they would drive 80 yards and score another touchdown, making the score 21-17 and looked in control of the game.
Texas Tech would answer this time though with another touchdown pass from Shimonek to his fourth different reciever, Mason Reed.
With 1:07 left in the 1st half, ASU was punting to the Red Raiders when Ja'deion High, a receiver, flashed in and used his head to block the ASU punt straight into the air. Texas Tech would recover and score in 30 seconds on Nic Shimonek's 5th touchdown pass of the half, and Cantrell's second.
Just an incredible play on the punt block that made the first half ending much better than it would have been otherwise.
