In College football news, Bill Stewart is out as the Head Coach at West Virginia University. Stewart is 28-12 in his 3 year career at West Virginia, his career highlight being an upset victory over the 3rd ranked Oklahoma Sooners in the Fiesta Bowl when he was the interim head coach after Rich Rodriguez left for Michigan. Stewart led the Mountaineers to a Big East champions.

This comes amid an alleged controversy that was reported earlier this year in a bizarre scandal that Stewart had attempted to organize a smear campaign against his now replacement involving Holgorsen's previous alcohol-related incident record.

Stewart is being replaced by former Red Raider Offensive coordinator Dan Holgerson. Holgerson was a Red Raider from 2003-2007 during the Mike Leach Era, after Tech he stopped in Houston and Oklahoma State briefly before heading to West Virginia this year where he was titled the offensive coordinator and head coach in waiting.

Holgorsen's contract specifically addresses this situation.  Holgorsen's contract states the he was to make about $750,000 this year as the offensive coordinator, but he will now be given a prorated share of what was to be his 2012 head coaching salary.

Holgorsen's 2012 head coach's salary was to be $1.4 million.
