SWAT Responds to Domestic Disturbance Call on Avenue X
Update: Authorities were able to diffuse the situation after 1 p.m., EverythingLubbock reports. No arrests were made.
According to KAMC News, one of two people inside a home "left voluntarily." Following that, police and SWAT left the scene.
The incident is still under investigation. No names have been released since no charges have been filed.
Original story: SWAT was on scene at a Lubbock home Thursday morning (March 7th) for a domestic disturbance call.
According to Lubbock Police Department Public Information Officer Tiffany Pelt, at around 11 a.m., SWAT responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2400 block of Avenue X. The original call came in around 9 a.m., Pelt said.
EverythingLubbock.com reports that a nearby resident said "things escalated just before 11 a.m., telling the outlet that police on the scene had guns drawn and were not letting other residents out of their homes.
Someone appeared to be barricaded inside a home in the neighborhood, said a KAMC photojournalist at the scene.
Citizens should avoid the area for the time being.
