The Texas Tech football team had 10 players show up in the Athlon Sports. That's fifth most behind Oklahoma with 18, Iowa State with 17, Texas with 16 and Oklahoma State with 14. Coincidentally, that's probably going to be the top four teams in the Big 12 when the Big 12 preseason poll comes out this summer.

Does that mean Texas Tech will be fifth in that poll? According to Athlon sports, maybe.

The Red Raiders are led by All-American offensive lineman Jack Anderson, defensive lineman Eli Howard and the best punter in the Big 12 Austin McNamara. The first team includes Heisman hopefuls Longhorn QB Sam Ehlinger and Cowboys RB Chuba Hubbard.

Texas Tech added three more names on the second team with running back SaRodorick Thompson, center Dawson Deaton, and linebacker Riko Jeffers.  The third and fourth teams hold the final four Red Raiders with Erik Ezukanma and TJ Vasher filling wide receiver spots on the teams and corner Adrian Frye landing on the 4th team defense. The final Red Raider on the list is kicker Trey Wolff.

Sophomore wide receiver Erik Ezukanma, the Red Raiders' leading receiver from a year ago, was Texas Tech's lone selection to the third team. Senior wide receiver T.J. Vasher, junior defensive back Adrian Frye and sophomore kicker Trey Wolff rounded out the list of honorees on the fourth team.
