Arizona State Fires Head Coach Dennis Erickson
Dennis Erickson was fired Monday after five seasons at Arizona State. Erickson was relieved of his duties after posting a season record of 6-6. Even though Erickson was fired, he will still coach the team in their bowl game.
During Erickson's tenure as head coach, the Sun Devils went 31-30.
"I am proud of what we accomplished in five years. The program is in good shape for the next coach," said Erickson in a statement he made to the university.
Erickson's best season at Arizona State was in 2007 where he won 10 games. Though 2007 was successful he never won more than six games in a season after that.
Erickson will find out Sunday who he will coach his final game against when bowl games are announced.
