After 10 Years in a Lubbock Shelter, Titan Finally Has His Home
Titan, a very long-term resident of The Haven Animal Shelter (4501 Farm to Market Rd 1729), has finally found his furever home after an emotional TikTok video of him posted by a Haven employee went viral, getting 60,000 views.
@josh.timkTitan deserves a chance. 10+ years in a shelter is too long. #animalshelter #adopt #fyp #adoptdontshop♬ Repeat Until Death - Novo Amor
If you visited or volunteered at The Haven, you probably saw Titan in his mostly outdoor enclosure. He was always friendly and had a cute smile, but absolutely nothing can beat having a home and a family of your own.
Josh, the same employee who made the video, drove Titan to his new home in San Antonio after Titan got a last-minute vet check-up. Truly, The Haven isn't interested in just "getting rid" of their animals, they are dedicated to finding the right homes, and ensure the animal is ready for that home.

TITAN GOT ADOPTED! If you have been out at the Haven in the past decade, you probably met Titan and fell in love with him. Even though he loved everyone and was loved by everyone, not many people had interest in taking him home. Titan has been at the Haven for more than 10 years patiently waiting for his forever home, and we are so happy to announce that he has found it! One of our young employees, Josh, made a video about Titan’s story that got over 60,000 views creating a lot of interest in Titan. We went through all of the applications with Dr. Wilbanks conducting interviews and we found the perfect family for him. The only catch was they lived in San Antonio and couldn’t drive up to Lubbock to get him. We couldn’t let that be the reason Titan didn’t get his home, and Josh immediately volunteered to transport him. After talking back and forth with his potential adopters, the trip was planned and a going away party was had. Josh took Titan to the vet for bloodwork and a thorough exam to make sure he was healthy, then he transported Titan to San Antonio. And it was perfect! We couldn’t be happier for Titan and his new family. We will miss his sweet face so much, but we are able to rest knowing he is in a loving home being pampered, just how he deserves. He is loving his new home and is getting in plenty of missed naps on the couch!
Many folks won't risk adopting an older animal. I'm the opposite. I likely will never adopt a puppy again. Too much work/chewed shoes/peed carpet for me. I like the mellow ones, the lazy ones, the couch potato ones. Titan is going to be an expert at that, while still having plenty of personality and fun to go around, hopefully for years to come.
The Haven can always use our support. If you would like to donate cash, supplies, or your time to support their incredible mission, you can find out more information on their website.
