Patrick Mahomes' foundation 15 and the Mahomies donated meals to COVID-19 frontline healthcare workers in Kansas City, Missouri this week, and the tweet they sent in response is just adorable.

Kara Purdum, a registered nurse working at a medical intensive care unit in Kansas City, posted a picture of six healthcare workers each holding a sign. Together, the message reads: "Thank you Patrick Mahomes Foundation. You are a champ!"

The frontline workers were treated to lunch at Jack Stack Barbecue, which has been named one of the 25 best everyday dining restaurants in the U.S.

Mahomes had a simple response to their tweet:

This isn't the first time Mahomes' foundation has made headlines for helping out the needy, and it likely won't be the last.

This March, Mahomes' foundation donated $100,000 to various groups in Kansas City as the coronavirus pandemic began shutting down most states, as well as 15,000 meals to the Harvesters organization. Last July, 15 and the Mahomies donated shoes to athletes in Whitehouse ISD.

I've said it before, but Patrick Mahomes continues to be a shining example of what a sports star can and should be.

...dedicated to improving the lives of children. The Foundation will support initiatives that focus on health, wellness, communities in need of resources and other charitable causes.

It was established by NFL MVP, Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes in 2019.

The foundation is actively providing grants of up to $15,000 via their application page.
