Texas Tech Basketball has gone through a lot of changes in the last month. From Mark Adams taking over as the head coach to the roster having major turnover and everything in between.

Most of the change has been well received though, especially Mark Adams' new staff that's has been widely regarded as a home run coaching staff. The new strength and conditioning coach comes over from Memphis. Two great recruiters were added in Corey Williams and Talvin Hester. Darryl Dora even returns to Lubbock as the director of Player Development.

The first, and arguably biggest, hire from Mark Adams though was Associate Head Coach Barret Peery who left a head coaching job at Portland State to come down to Texas Tech to win with coach Adams.

Now, before we get into this, I don't dislike Torchy's. I actually really like Torchy's, but when Peery tweeted about a Cinco de Mayo meal at Torchy's and labeled it "Wreck Em Local" it stood out.

It's not that Torchy's isn't local, it was founded in Texas before expanding outside the Lone Star State. Again, there's nothing wrong with Torchy's, but is it truly local? No. What's worse is that it was founded in Austin. You know, where Chris Beard's Longhorns are.

So, Coach Peery, instead of Torchy's, might I suggest one of these fine establishments in Lubbock and Wolfforth!

We're glad you're at Texas Tech!

Ten Truly Local Lubbock Tacos

By the way, look forward to more posts in the future on more local restaurants everyone in Lubbock needs to try. I asked for the best local spots on Twitter and you guys did not disappoint.

The replies to this tweet are a goldmine that includes staples like Caprock Cafe, Orlando's, Little Panda, and Spanky's. There are also several restaurants that I haven't been to even though I've lived here all my life. So, if you're sitting around tonight doing the age-old, "What do you want to eat, I don't know what do you want to eat?" conversation, then hit the mentions of this tweet and pick a random eatery and eat local.
