The Texas Rangers were able to avoid the series sweep from the Washington Nationals on Sunday as Yu Darvish had another stellar performance.  Texas was able to score twice on Sunday to give Darvish enough breathing room as they earned the 2-0 win.

Yu (pictured on the left) had one of his more impressive starts of the year as he went eight strong innings while striking out 12 National batters.  He surrendered zero runs on five hits while walking just two as he notched his fifth win of the year.

"Today was about pitching, and Yu did that," Rangers manager Ron Washington said.  "He gave us a chance to scratch some runs.  Today, it was about getting that one run.  We just needed Yu to pitch well, and he pitched well.  We didn't need shutout baseball, but he couldn't give up a lot of runs.  We needed a well-pitched ballgame."

Texas will start a three game midweek series against the Baltimore Orioles starting Tuesday with first pitch for that game set for 7:05pm from Globe Life Park in Arlington and can be seen on FOX Sports SW.
