The hit western TV series Yellowstone is getting a prequel called 1883 that's set to air on December 19th, 2021.

Dozens of trailers were seen lining part of the property just a few days ago. Prior to this, Tim McGraw, who stars in 1883 along with wife Faith Hill, posted a photo showing the beautiful Amarillo sky while on set.

1883 has had a quick pre-to-post production turnaround with only a few months between the time they started filming and the release date for the first episode. This turnaround is so short in fact, that they were just recently spotted filming at the iconic 6666 Ranch in Guthrie, Texas.

After the death of Anne Windfohr Marion, the last trust holder and great-granddaughter of founder Samuel Burnett, the property was put up for sale for $347 million. The ranch was then purchased by a group led by Taylor Sheridan.

The purchase was made with the intent to use the ranch as a set for upcoming Yellowstone spinoffs, the first being 1883.

They had previously filmed parts of Yellowstone Season 4 on the ranch in October 2020, and they plan to release an entire spinoff based on the 6666 Ranch, called 6666. There's not much information out there about 6666, but we can’t wait to see how they go about representing such a historical ranch.

Although they are primarily using the land as a set, they are also planning to keep the animals that are on the property and keep it running as a ranch. I can't wait to see how these Yellowstone spinoffs turn out once they have completed production.

Take a look at these photos of the trailers spotted on 6666 Ranch:
