TTUHSC School of Nursing Invites the Public to Holiday Open House
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing will be hosting a Holiday Wonderland Open House. The open house will be in honor of the Combest Central Community Health Center, which is the newest location under the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center brand.
This new location will provide more services for families in Lubbock and will also house several School of Nursing programs such as the Combest Central Community Health Center, the Nurse Family Partnership, and The Nest. Having these programs under one roof will allow for many people in the community to have more access to health care and prenatal programs.
The goal of the Holiday Wonderland Open House is for people in the community to receive more information about what programs are readily available and offered. This new location was previously located in central Lubbock and still aims to provide comprehensive health services to high-risk and those in need. The Nurse Family Partnership program and The Nest programs will be providing information and resources to women who are expecting or already are mothers.
The Nest programss main focus is to increase the number of women receiving prenatal care for their unborn babies. The Nurse Family Partnership is part of a health program for women pregnant with their first child and tries to strengthen the relationships between the mother and nurses. This program also aids first-time families and is free to those that are eligible due to their income, educates people on behavioral health and diabetes health, and also offers prescription assistance to those that need it. The open house will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on December 15 at 416 Frankford Avenue in Northwest Lubbock.
