This Band is Returning to Their Roots With a West Texas Tour
West Texas Exiles is a band based in Austin, Texas, but rooted in their background as West Texans. They are currently touring with Mason and the Gin Line, and will be playing at The Bluelight in Lubbock this Saturday, May 21, 2022.
I got the chance to interview the band, and they are a great group of guys that are stoked to be on tour for the first time as West Texas Exiles. They mostly came together through the Austin music scene, bonding over their connection to West Texas, and eventually forming the group. Just through chatting with them for a little while, you can tell how much love they have for not only their music, but for where they came from as well.
Although the band itself is less than a year old, you can tell the group has an incredible amount of talent and experience that really makes them stand out. The group is made up of four members: Eric Harrison (bass and vocals), Marco Gutierrez (lead vocals and guitar), Daniel Davis (keys, guitar, and vocals), and Trinidad Leal (drums). They just released their debut single written ‘New Moon Foe’, written by Davis and currently available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music.
If you want to keep up with the band on social media, you can find them @westtexasexiles on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. They will also be launching their own website soon where you can buy merch, find information about the band, and more.
