Nick's Sports Bar and Lounge 98th and Quaker across from Market Street

I was apprehensive about leading off with Nick's, but my reasons were selfish. I prefer to have a smoke where I am watching a game and Nick's is smoke free. However, the great service from the waitresses, plethora of beers and liquors at their disposal, I found Nick's as one of my favorite places to relax at in Lubbock. The menu is simplistic, but it has food that enhances the game watching experience. Going for a light meal? Eat the Ty Cobb Salad or just chuck the diet and go for a pizza. One of the best in town, in my opinion.

A few dozen flat screen televisions line the establishment where you can watch multiple games on a Saturday.

Price is manageable and you can bring the kids with you since its smokeless.

The Gaslight 5212 57th Street

One of my favorite places in Lubbock to have a drink in a Lubbock is The Gaslight. Open daily from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., The Gaslight offers great drink specials in an atmosphere where people in your group can either relax on comfortable couches inside watching the game or enjoying a post game drink on the patio. Strategically placed televisions are throughout the bar and allow you to catch multiple games if your heart desires.

The food is excellent as well. I suggest the Chips and White Queso with the Bacon Cheeseburger. The stuffed Jalapenos are also a must. Smoking is allowed and this a welcome change from the norm at today's sports bar or lounge.

Prices on most drinks are average, but the atmosphere and service are excellent. You can get a drink with a meal for 20 bucks and it will be well spent.

Crickets Grill and Draft House Broadway and University

loading...

One of the best places by Texas Tech to catch the game is Crickets. On Broadway by University Avenue for nearly fifteen years, Crickets offers an ample amount of TV's to watch the game, dozens and dozens of beers on draft or bottled along with food that will quell any appetite.

The game room offers pool, shuffle board, and the sports bar staple, A Golden Tee game machine. Smoking is allowed on the premises, like The Gaslight.

The price for a burger and beer will cost you generally 12 bucks depending on the brew. With all of the wonderful beers they have, splurge and try something new. I guarantee they have something you have never tasted before.

Buffalo Wild Wings 19th and Milwaukee or 82nd and University

Most chains are laughable when they claim to be a spot to watch the game. Buffalo Wild Wings is not one of those places. They want you to enjoy gameday by Table-gating, yes the most awesome word ever invented, all day and through the game. Ample amounts of draft beers, excellent wings with a lot sauce options, I suggest the mango habenero, and potato wedges are a must.

Both locations in Lubbock have dozens of screens and televisions to watch the game honestly should be frequented at least once by football fans from Thursday to Monday during the season.

The price is manageable to enjoy the game with a beer and a dozen wings for under 15 bucks most nights.

Cujo's Sportz Bar 4th and Frankford

Located in Northwest Lubbock, Cujo's is one of the jewels of that area with great service, amazing food, and a good atmosphere to watch the game. I suggest the Garlic Peppercorn Burger with a frosty Budweiser. I am a fan of this place also because it is owned by former Texas Tech football player Curtis Jordan.Do yourself a favor and watch the Tech game at an establishment owned by a Red Raider great.

The price is better than most chains and the food is superior to the aforementioned chains. You can get in and out of there for under 20 bucks.
