The Parking Lots Around Rangers Ballpark in Arlington Will Remain Open

DALLAS (AP) — The Texas Rangers and former owner Tom Hicks have reached an agreement that will allow the team to operate several stadium parking lots controlled by Hicks at least through the end of the 2011 season.

Hicks' company issued a statement Wednesday saying the two sides had reached the agreement but had not settled on financial terms.

The agreement gives the Rangers the right to set parking rates this year at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington as the two sides continue to negotiate.

However, the Hicks company statement says the issue could still be settled through a trial if a long-term deal isn't reached.

The Rangers filed suit in state district court in Fort Worth on April 11 to prevent Hicks' company, Baseball Real Estate LP, from raising the price of parking.
