The Oklahoma City Thunder Will be Without Point Guard Russell Westbrook for At Least the First 4-6 Weeks

The Oklahoma City Thunder will have to start the season without their three time all-star point guard Russell Westbrook for at least the first four weeks of the season, as he underwent another arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Tuesday.

He injured that knee on April 24 against the Houston Rockets as their rookie guard Patrick Beverley lunged for a steal as Westbrook stopped to call a timeout in the second quarter. He would remained in the game, as it wasn't until two days later that the team announced that he would miss the rest of the playoffs.  He would receive his first surgery shortly after in May to repair a torn lateral meniscus.  This will put even more pressure on super star Kevin Durant and head coach Scott Brooks.  Durant had one of his more disappointing post seasons last year as he really seemed to struggle to find a rhythm late in the game with out his wing man there to aid him.  This may be a blessing in disguise though, if Westbrook can some how come back better than before which should be scary for opponents, as he is widely considered one of the NBA's most explosive players.
