The Red Raiders basketball team lost their first game in Maui, but they refused to lose their second against Louisville. Sure the Cardinals are now 0-5, but Texas Tech absolutely took out all of their pent-up aggression from losing to Creighton out today and outscored the Cardinals 70-38.

Kevin Obanor didn't play badly in the opening contest, but he didn't look right either. He had it all working on day two scoring 15 points and adding five rebounds. Daniel Batcho added nine points 12 boards, three steals, and three blocks.

Not sure if they called this one a block or a steal because it could have been both and it's one of the most amazing things I've seen this season.

Freshman Pop Isaacs only scored five today, but he also had three steals and only had one turnover today which was a struggle he had in the first several games of the season. He looked really composed and smooth today. That makes me confident that consistent production will follow.

Another freshman that shined today was Robert Jennings who had eight points and three rebounds in 15 minutes. The freshmen pair connected on this transition assist and slam.

There was also a third freshman, kind of a theme, that stepped up in Lamar Washington. He had a career-high seven rebounds to go along with his four assists and four points.

38 is the fewest points allowed at the Maui Jim Maui Invitational since Minnesota held Arizona State to 37 in the 1991 tournament. It's also the fewest points Louisville scored in a game since 1942.

The Red Raiders play their third game in Maui against Ohio State on Wednesday, November 23rd at 1:30 pm.
