Texas Tech Basketball moved to 2-0 in 2022 and 20 at the United Supermarkets Arena under head coach Mark Adams after beating Texas Southern 78-54 on Thursday night. The most surprising thing for Texas Tech basketball hasn't been on the floor this year for the team, it's been in the stands.

Raider Riot, the student section and the crowd at large has been bringing midseason energy to the first two games of the year and if this is what's being brought in November, there's no telling what the USA will be like in January and February when former players and coaches swing back through.

On the floor, it was more of the same from game one except even better.

The Red Raiders cut their turnovers from 20 to 12 and Jaylon Tyson had a game high 13 points. Kevin Obanor also scored 13 and added seven rebounds to his totals as well.

Back to Tyson, he's a guy who has shown some legit moves on the offensive end.

KJ Allen played 20 minutes tonight with Daniel Batcho in a bit of foul trouble and did some really good things, including this put back dunk for two of his four points.

The freshman class of Red Raiders has also been shining early this season for Texas Tech. Pop Isaacs has started both games and has shown range and ability, even if the game seems a little fast so far for the freshman.

Even with the turnover bug, there has been obvious potential shown by the young guard.

Speaking of former coaches returning, former Red Raider assistant Talvin Hester returns to Lubbock on Monday with Louisiana Tech to play Texas Tech in their next contest at the United Supermarkets Arena. That game tips off November 14th at 7:00 pm.
