Texas Tech veterinary school

On Wednesday, January 22nd, The Texas Tech Board of Regents met and unanimously voted to approve the budget for the construction of the new veterinary medicine school in Amarillo.

Associated Supply Company, Inc. (ASCO) was recognized Wednesday for its $5 million contribution to the School of Veterinary Medicine.

On Friday afternoon, funds for the proposed Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine in Amarillo were approved in the amount of over $17 million.

The Dallas Morning News editorial says Texas Tech's proposed veterinary program in Amarillo will be a benefit to the whole state

"As we go into this session, even though there is so much focus on the new initiatives like the vet school, the dental school, the institute for mental health, our basic and fundamental priority is always the formula. That's what funds most of what we do at Tech, or a good part of what we do," Dr. Schovanec said.
