The SWE Fury promotion is coming to Lubbock on Saturday, July 24th, 2021, and the relatively new promotion has a partial owner that is professional wrestling royalty.

The Von Erich name is as gold as they come in the business, right there with the rest of the family names that have been a part of the business for the last several decades.

The Von Erich name started with Fritz, then moved to Kevin Von Erich, David Von Erich, Chris Von Erich, Mike Von Erich, and the Texas Tornado, Kerry Von Erich, who was Lacey's dad. If you know the Von Erich story, you know there are incredible highs and desolate valleys in that family's history.

Those low points make Lacey's history and relationship with the business complicated.

We were able to talk to Von Erich this morning on Ryan Hyatt's Raiderland Wednesday afternoon, she said that SWE Fury has made her a fan again. She told us that she was only at an event because she was accepting a Hall of Fame award for her father.

She also explained that she generally said no to wrestling appearances after retiring from the business in 2010, but the SWE Fury event was so engaging it made her truly interested in wrestling for the first time since she was six years old. You can listen to Lacey's entire interview with Raiderland above.

The SWE West Texas Fury Fest is absolutely stacked with nZo fighting Ivan Warsaw in a falls count anywhere match. Charlie Haas will defend his SWE World Championship against Mil Muertes. CazXL and Lance Archer will collide in a ginormous Battle of the Big Men. That's just 6 men who will be in action out of 51, according to Von Erich.

The live show will feature enough matches to tape three television shows and will include a meet and greet beforehand and a Kids Camp, featuring Lacey Von Erich and Charlie Haas that morning.
