If you haven't eaten in Wolfforth you are really missing out. They have some iconic restaurants and it is sad to announce another one is closed down.

Dixie Dog has become a place even one has come to know and love. I saw a post saying they are closed down but did not believe it so I had to check it out myself.

They're supposed to be open at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays, so I ran by there on May 10th, 2022 to find out what was going on. Sadly, the parking lot was empty and there were "closed down" signs all over the building. You can see that below.

We've heard a lot of things about why Dixie Dogs could be closed. If you try and call their phone number, it's now disconnected. That's always a bad sign.

The owner finally reached out and said:

"Dixie Dog had closed due to water problems with the TECQ that could not be solved, Has been my Privilege to serve this Community for over 30 years, Thanks to all my customers and friends and family for your years of Devotion."

- Steve Tidmore

A lot of people in town are definitely taking this pretty hard. Leigh Ann Mcwhorter is the one that broke the news to everyone.

While the Dixie Dog at 705 Highway 62 in Wolfforth, Texas might be gone for good, the other Dixie Dogs in West Texas are owned by different owners and still should be opened up and ready to serve you.

Dixie Dog, you may be gone, but you will never be forgotten.
