Putt Hangs on Cup for 12 Long Seconds Before Going In
Justin Thomas claimed his first major Sunday when he won the PGA Championship -- with a little help from gravity.
Thomas, 24, dramatically sunk this eight-foot birdie putt on the par-5 10th hole Sunday. He tapped the ball to the lip of the cup, where it rested for 12 seconds. Twelve seconds doesn't sound like a lot, but when you're talking about a ball just sitting in one spot, then, yes, it feels like an eternity.
These are the types of things that happen when you win championships -- a little bit of luck comes to your aid to show that maybe destiny is on your side. When you lose? Different story. The wind picks up and knocks the ball back five feet. Fortunately for Thomas, things went his way.
