One Person Arrested After a Report of Shots Fired in East Lubbock
UPDATED 3:10 p.m., November 14, 2017: New information released this afternoon after a woman was arrested by Lubbock Police following a two-hour standoff. Around 11:30 a.m., Tuesday morning (Nov. 14), Lubbock Police were called out to the Texas Health & Human Services Offices in the 1700 block of Parkway Drive after reports of shots fired.
KAMC News reports that people inside the Texas Health & Human Services offices barricaded themselves behind a locked door during the shooting. They were then evacuated out of the building after police arrived on the scene.
Meanwhile, the suspect locked herself inside of a bathroom during the standoff. No one was injured during the shooting, and the standoff ended peacefully after LPD negotiators convinced her to come out.
Police arrested the suspect, 22-year-old Rosenda Rey, and charged her with making a terroristic threat. She also had two outstanding warrants for her arrest. According to LPD, Rey was armed with a CO2 pellet gun during the shooting.
